1 John 3:1

'Sew' GREAT is the LOVE the Father has lavished upon us, that we should be called the 'Daughters' of God!! And that is what we ARE!!   (sherry paraphrase)

Ephesians 3:18-19 May we have the power, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge- that we may be filled to the measure of the fullness of GOD!

Scarlet Tapestries wants to share the truths found in the word of God. The truth about the height, depth, length, and width of God’s Love toward us.

We also want to share with women the practical skill of Sewing. A skill that can be learned just for it’s enjoyment, but can also be very useful in daily living and could possibly lead to work and/or employment.

We want to share the hope found in the gospel of Christ Jesus. The Hope that brings, peace, strength, freedom, and salvation.

Whether it is a sewing lesson, sewing class, a sewing club, ‘Weekend of Refreshing’, a Week full of ‘Sewing Challenges’ or the 3 months in the ‘Mentor Program’, we want each student to take with them a greater understanding of the love Jesus has toward them and an understanding that we are each created by God for a purpose and our Heavenly Father longs to bring us into all that he has for us.

Spring Break Sewing Camp

Sewing Camp was a Blast.

We had 13 students, 11 girls and 2 boys, ages 7 to 14. Our 5 volunteer sewing group leaders were ages 13 to 30 something.

We started out with a lesson on the potter and the clay.  with air clay to work with, we discussed how our Father God is  the potter and finds the things in our lives that he wants to help free us from and he also molds and  makes us into vessels to do the Good works he has created for us to do.

All of the students were beginner seamstresses and we learned about the functions of the sewing machine, how to thread and what tools are best to have for starting out.  We worked on simple projects, a purse, pillow case, and alphabet pillow.  Each Student also created a Life Tapestry.

Each morning started with Bible devotions. After Lunch and our afternoon game, we talked different passages of scripture, some  in Proverbs 32.  Then the students started a drawing, creating a design that would represent some of the things that God is showing them and doing in their lives.

It was a great time for everyone.

Our Mission

We are all bombarded with so much

Information in this day and age. A world of Multi-media is all around us. TV, Cell Phone, Smart Phones, Internet, Magazines, Newspapers, the list goes on.

How much of all that comes at us each day reminds us of our true value and worth. How much of the information reinforces the truths of God about his love and care for us. How much ‘misinformation’ pelts our hearts and minds each day about who we truly are and how Our Heavenly Father truly sees us.

The Bible says in John 10:10 the enemy comes to ‘steal, kill, and destroy’. He often starts this thieving in the hearts of young ladies at a very young age. Our true value, our true worth, our true beauty, and our Fathers divine purposes for our lives can be distorted, and stolen from our hearts and minds.

When there are hurts, abuses, neglect, rejection, extreme poverty, and shame that enter into our lives, our value can quickly be forgotten.

Scarlet Tapestries is a sewing school for girls and women, but its foremost purpose is to share the Heavenly Fathers Great Love. To plant, water, and nurture the truth of the gospel in the hearts of His precious daughters. To see women empowered by God’s Holy Spirit, and the truth of His great love and salvation.

Some of us grow up never having known the love of the Father and some have a forgotten or the truth may have been distorted in our hearts. Scarlet Tapestries wants to share a practical skill and a while you learn, you create, you celebrate a skill learned, a challenge completed, we are asking that Jesus will surround your life, fill your heart, and open your eyes to His great and marvelous Love.
